Grade 2 Community Service Project - ‘Toybank’

The students of Grade 2 participated in the ‘Toybank’ collection drive. The main aim of this event was to spread love, joy and happiness by donating toys, books and stationery to those who are less fortunate than us and for each one of us to experience the joy in giving.

‘Toybank’ is an organization in India that promotes the ‘Right to Play’ for all children. The mission of ‘Toybank’ is to address developmental needs in children through games, toys and play. It envisions a world where all children are empowered through healthy play.

Mentioned below are some of goals of ‘Toybank’.

To impart value education and teach empathy to children through play


To design and thus provide toys that will be context specific, by having toys in local languages as well


To create an awareness of the ‘Right to Play’ for all children


To provide unique platform to individuals from all ages, to participate in this movement of propagating the Right to Childhood


To ensure the children from weaker economic backgrounds have a fair chance to life

To support the above mentioned goals, students of Grade 2 executed their Community Service project in the following manner:

15th January, 2018 – A brief introduction of the community service was given to the students of Grade 2

17th January, 2018- An announcement creating awareness was made on the school’s Public Address system as well as in the Junior school assembly.

22nd January to 25th January - Students put up posters in the school to spread awareness about their community service project.

22nd January to 2nd February - Students carried out the toy collection drive.

5th February, 2018 – Ms. Shweta Chari, the founder of the Toybank NGO visited Grade 2 for a sensitization talk with the students.

8th February, 2018 - The toys were collected by the Toybank representatives. 

The students of Grade 2 executed the project with love and affection and it was a great learning experience for all.
