Grade 5 Community service

Vatsalya meaning ‘Parental Love’. The Foundation believes that every child is born with an inherent capacity to grow and develop as responsible individuals.
It is the organisation’s firm conviction that every street child possesses inner strength and potential which must find expression. Vatsalya provides children love, respect, support and encouragement with an opportunity to become successful adults.

To support this noble cause, here is how the students and teachers of Grade 5 conducted their Community Service project:

1 Friday, 6th October 2017
  Coordination with the Representatives of The Vatsalya Foundation
  Sensitization talks by Grade 5 teachers to the children of Grade 5. Students were asked to make posters for display.
     
2 Tuesday,10th and Monday, 23rd October 2017
 

Announcement made at the Senior School assembly to spread awareness on ‘The Vatsalya Foundation’. Students urged their peers to donate old clothes generously for the noble cause.

Thursday, 12th October Students displayed creative posters all around the school to spread awareness for their project and also made an announcement in classes for the same.

     
4 Friday, 13th October 2017 
  Announcement made on the PA system for the entire school.
   
5 Wednesday, 25th October 2017
 

Announcement made at the Junior School assembly to spread awareness on ‘The Vatsalya Foundation’. Students urged their peers to donate old clothes generously for the noble cause.

  Discussing and planning the activities to be conducted with the children of The Vatsalya Foundation. (2 activities were planned, singing songs for the children)
  Singing practice.
   
6 23rd to 26th October 2016
  Students on a collection drive to receive the donations brought by their peers for the children of The Vatsalya Foundation.
  Sorting the clothes received as donation and packing them in the cartons and bags.

27th October- Visit to the Vatsalya Foundation

  Activity 1- Students sang a song, ‘Vande Mataram’ and '10 feet Tall', for the children at The Vatsalya Foundation. Finally, our children donated their collection with a great sense of satisfaction and fulfilment.         
 

Activity 2 - During their interaction, students from Vatsalya Foundation introduced themselves and spoke about their experiences and their journey of their life. They shared their struggles and success stories which sensitized our students.
