Navratri Celebration

Wednesday, 14th October 2015

The word Navaratri literally means nine nights in Sanskrit, nava meaning nine and ratri meaning nights. This nine-day festival celebrates the triumph of good over evil and exhorts mankind to wake up from the slumber of ignorance, remove all negativities, purify the mind and cultivate positive virtues. To commemorate and invoke the blessings of the Goddess, the students of the Junior School offered prayers and presented a beautiful recital. Thereafter, the students of grade 2 performed a tradition folk dance, called the ‘Raas Garba’. All the students were dressed in traditional Garba and Dandia attire which was a spectacular visual treat for everyone to see and relish. Navratri celebrations were steeped in traditional music and dance. Dance and devotion lit up the place when the students and teachers celebrated the festival with great joy and vigour.
