The tagline also holds for the Aditya Birla World Academy which has created a niche for itself in a short period. International Curricula:
The school offers globally benchmarked Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), A-Levels, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The curricula focus on applicative and innovative pedagogy.
IGCSE – The IGCSE programme, specific to grades 9 & 10 enables a student to choose 7-10 subjects. This helps students to widen the scope of their undergraduate studies and make an informed choice about their career progression.
AS & A Level – Cambridge International A-Level is an advanced-level two-year course, after completion of secondary schooling or grade 10. Since Cambridge International offers three examination series, October/November or May/June, or Feb/March (only for India), students also have the flexibility to fast-track certain courses. As a school, ABWA takes the May –June series of Board Examination. However, it also offers the Feb-March Series to facilitate admission into Indian Universities for those students who wish to pursue their undergraduate studies in India.
IBDP (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme) – The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is a robust pre-university course that encourages students to become active, compassionate, and lifelong learners having excellent breadth and depth of knowledge.

Immersion in various activities such as Internships, overseas Exchange Programmes, Enrichment Programme - in collaboration with Centre for Talented Youth, The Johns’ Hopkins University, International Competitions such as – American Math Competition, World Math Competition, CEMC – University of Waterloo, World Mathematics Team Championship, HMCE (MUN) and Inter-School/ Inter-House Competitions, students cultivate a deeper sense of social and cultural understanding. Extra-Curricular Activities such as STEM Club, Graphic & Drone Designing, 3D Printing, Aerial Silk, Pottery & Puppetry, Baking, Creative Writing, and Art Appreciation, etc. provide valuable skill-building experiences and enrich the life of the students. Callido sessions at ABWA focus on critical thinking and research skills and help the students with their academic writing. The school also focuses on skill development through the Callido sessions. The First Robotic Competition (FRC) at ABWA is the sport of mind which combines the rigour of Science and Technology along with challenges to raise funds, design a team brand, hone teamwork skills, build program industrial-size robots and compete with likeminded competitors. It also paves the way for greater self-awareness, providing a foundation that inculcates the spirit of innovation and creativity.
The way forward:
At ABWA, the application process for Gr. 11 commences in Mid-July. The school conducts Orientation sessions, wherein parents are briefed about the courses, facilities, and the admission procedure at the school. This is followed by an online application along with the submission of the relevant documents. The Transcripts, Letters of Recommendation, and Achievements form part of the documents to be submitted. Thereafter, applicants appear for Online Entrance Tests in English, Mathematics, and the chosen Sciences. Finally, shortlisted candidates are invited for family interaction. ABWA has a Merit Scholarship Program which is available for students seeking admission into Grade 11. It is given to meritorious and exceptional students for the two years of the IB DP / A-Level programme. A well-defined criterion is laid down based on the academic track record, and performance at the Aditya Birla World Academy Entrance Test for those who could avail of this scholarship program.
At ABWA the Academia and Industry session, included as a part of our Pre-IB and Pre-A Level programmes, helps the students to gain exposure from the experts and professionals from different fields. Such events enable students to establish connections with the world outside the classroom and develop a better understanding of the demands of work life.
