A group keen on Hydrology research chose to travel by local train, and then a local tum-tum all the way to Panvel, collect water samples and then analyse the same, create weekly reports. We understood the trials of travel in local train, met interesting people, our journey as well as at our work place.
Yet another group learnt the various ways a retail outlet should take care to ensure little or no shoplifting happens. Sitting on the shop floor looking at pre orders, taking stock of material sold and how they could do better the next day, making suggestions to shoppers, gave some students of Aditya Birla World Academy summer internship a huge sense of confidence in their developed new skills.
Most of our Aditya Birla World Academy students are inspired to help others right from their young age with CAS and community service and thus medical administrative internship at Hospitals is sought by many. While it gives them a sense of community wellbeing, they realise the difficult life of a doctor a nurse and even the admin section of a hospital and the challenges are much beyond only saving life’s.
When a young 17-year-old steps out of his/her protective cocoon of home and school to experience different work environments it expands their academic horizon and a capacity to adapt to various challenging situations. Interacting and learning from full time professions widens horizons for them it gives them the maturity of handling conflicts and to take a “no” for a job done and to redo work again and again. The patience comes from this too.
